Spokesperson on the US report that China was supplied by the Taliban US cruises missiles fired during attacks against the Taliban
2001-10-02 00:00
Q: It was reported by The
Washington Times on 28 September that China was supplied by
the Taliban US cruises missiles fired during attacks against
the Taliban. It was also reported that China's companies had
been working on the telecom systems for the Taliban. What is
your comment?
A: The report
alleging that China got US cruises missiles from the Taliban
and other reports are totally groundless. I wish to
reiterate that the Chinese Government has not established
any kind of official relations with the Taliban. It should
be pointed out that since the outbreak of the September 11
Incident, some people in the United States have been
intentionally spreading various kinds of liars to defame
China. Such political attempts can lead to nowhere.
