Being dismayed at the news of the heavy injury and loss of life and property caused by 7.8 magnitude earthquake hitting Sichuan province of China on 12th May,all our compatriots and friends living in PNG and Solomon Islands are very much concerned about this tragedy. In these days the Chinese Embassy has been receiving many calls, letters, mails and about eighty thousand Kina (around 180,000.00 RMB Yuan, till 15th May) from our compatriots and friends from all walks of life to express their concerns, sympathies and condolences to the Chinese Government and the Chinese people and the families of victims.

The Chinese Embassy would like to take this opportunity to extend sincerely thanks to their concerns and help. In order to remit the money to the disaster stricken regions as quick as possible, the Chinese Embassy in PNG has opened a special account for the donation and 24 hours hot line. More and quick donations are very much appreciated.
