Chinese Ambassador Zeng Fanhua Arrived in Port Moresby

On 13 May 2021, H.E. Mr. Zeng Fanhua, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People’s Republic of China to the Independent State of Papua New Guinea, arrived in Port Moresby. Protocol officer of the PNG Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade greeted him at the airport.

Ambassador Zeng said that he was very honored to be the 15th ambassador to Papua New Guinea. Over the past 45 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and PNG, China-PNG relations have maintained vitality and continued to grow. In November 2018, President Xi Jinping paid a historic state visit to Papua New Guinea, opening up a new phase of rapid development for China-PNG relations. Ambassador said he would work with PNG friends to implement the important consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries,deepen friendly exchanges and cooperation in various fields, and facilitate the continuous development of the China-PNG Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.

The PNG side extended warm welcome to Ambassador Zeng, and said that the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade would provide all necessary assistance to Ambassador Zeng’s work. China is a key strategic partner for PNG. PNG always attaches great importance to the relationship with China, and will continue to work with the Chinese side to promote the development of bilateral relations.
