
1. In accordance with the Law of the People's Republic of China on Entry and Exit of Aliens and other relevant regulations, the aliens who apply for the Chinese visa shall fulfill the following procedures and provide the pertinent documents.
a. Passport with validity for 6 more months and at least 1 blank Visa Page.
b. One completed Visa Application Form.
c. One recently-taken two-inch half-length & full-faced photo without cap.
2. Supplimentary documents are also required relevant to the following:
a. Tourist Visa (L): Itinerary and/or invitation from friends in China.
b. Business Visa (F): Invitation from authorized institutions in China.
c. Student Visa (X): J-W201/J-W202 Form issued by the Chinese Ministry of Education and Letter of Admission by the school.
d. Working Visa (Z): Work Permit or Employment License issued by Chinese Labor Authorities and a statement of confirmation by the employer or a Chinese governmental invitation.
e. Journalist Visa (J): A letter or telegram from the competent department of the Chinese Government. And the notarized and authenticated "Physical Examination for Foreigner" for the applicant of J-1 visa.
f. Diplomatic and Service Visa ( or Official Visa): For the foreign government officials and the staff of diplomatic missions and of the United Nations who traveling to China for official mission or accreditation, an official note from the governments of their respective countries or from the United Nations, and sometimes a letter or telegram or pertinent document from the competent department of the Chinese Government.

5.Application by mail or delivery agencies: A pre-paid, self-addressed return envelope/satchel must be enclosed. This office shall not be responsible for any possible mishandling by the carriers. All fees/charges must be paid in cash only while collecting visas.
*Note: In accordance with relevant agreements on mutual exemption of visa fees, Chinese visas are issued gratis to citizens of the following countries: Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Maldives, Pakistan, Poland, Slovakia and Yugoslavia. The Mail/Courier Handling Fee shall, however, not be exempted.
6. Application for Visa/Entry Permit to Hong Kong /Macau SAR of China.
a. Travel to Hong Kong: Visas are not required for tourists travelling to Hong Kong with Papua New Guinea passports, who may enjoy a "3-month visa free visit" with thanks to the Visa Exemption Agreement between Papua New Guinea and Hong Kong SAR. For information about employment or longer stay, or visa requirements for Non-PNG nationals, please address inquiries to the Consular & Visa Office of the Chinese Embassy or the Hong Kong Immigration Department (Tel. b. Currently there are 36 countries from which citizens can visit Macao free of visa; citizens from other countries can apply for the visa to enter Macao at the airport when they arrive at Macao. 7. For Taiwan Residents who want to visit Mainland China, a Travel Permit will be issued. For those holding the pass for Taiwan Residents, they need to complete an application form and submit 2'X2' photos (for detailed information, please contact the Consular Office of the Chinese Embassy).
8. Failure to meet the above requirements and/or documentation required may results in delaying of the processing. In accordance with the relevant Laws of the People's Republic of China and the international practices, the consul is entitled to request other documents from the applicant, and is also entitled to reject the application.
